Dear Members and Guests,

We are honored to be asked by Governor Perdue to chair this very important working group. We know that there is a great deal of superb work occurring in our Pre-K classrooms, college campuses, and everywhere in between to get Georgia’s students ready for their future. Given Governor Perdue’s guidance, the time is right to look more broadly into Georgia’s future and examine what type of educational system we need to meet the demands of a global economy fifteen years from now. Utilizing the New Commission on the Skills of the American Workforce’s report Tough Choices or Tough Times as a framework, we are going to examine some structural elements of Georgia’s education system utilizing the expertise and diverse backgrounds of our working group members, to develop short and long term recommendations for preparing for the Georgia of 2023. This website will host announcements, presentations, and other meeting materials. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments at GOSA@gov.state.ga.us or (404) 463-1150.

Sincerely,
Chuck Knapp and Dean Alford
